4th-year Ph.D. candidate at Georgia Institute of Technology

Rick Yen is a 4th-year Ph.D. candidate at School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology. He works with Prof. Chin-Hui Lee on Speech and Language Processing. His research interests include automatic speech attribute transcription, multi-lingual speech recognition, low resource speech recognition, keyword information extraction, speech enhancement, and acoustic scene classification.

He was also an applied scientist intern at Microsoft, a research intern at Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories (MERL), and an ASR-Understanding intern at Apple.

Prior to Georgia Tech, he was working on machine learning and speech processing at Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica, Taipei. He received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University, Taipei, in 2020.
